Britain has 4 trident submarines and one is on patrol at all times. Each submarine has up to 48 nuclear warheads. Each warhead is eight times more powerful than the bomb dropeed on Hiroshima in 1945.The Hiroshima bomb killed 200,000 people. The decision on replacing these submarines will be made in 2016. Depleted uranium is a bi-product of nuclear processes and was used in Iraq by NATO forces for hardening shells to pierce bunkers and tanks. It produces a powder which gets into the body, damaging tissues and causing continuing birth defects.
